Colombo taps run dry for 12 hours

There will be a 12-hour interruption of water supply from 8am to 8pm on January 30 and a 36-hour interruption of water supply from 8am on January 29 to 8pm on January 30 to the following areas to facilitate urgent repairs, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board announced yesterday.

The areas where there will be a 12-hour interruption on Sunday are Colombo, Maharagama, Kotte, Kolonnawa and Dehiwela-Mt Lavinia Municipal Council areas, Kaldemulla, de Soysapura and Thelawala in the Moratuwa MC area, the Peliyagoda, Wattala-Mabola, Ja Ela, Kesbewa and Boralesgamuwa UC areas, Kelaniya, Wattala, Mahara, Dompe, Biyagama, Kotikawatta and Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha areas, Battaramulla, Hokandara and Malabe in the Kaduwela Pradeshiya Sabha area, Biyagama EPZ, Dekatana, Malwana and their outskirts.

The 36-hour interruption of water supply from 8am on January 29 to 8pm on January 30 will be effective in the following areas. Maharagama MC area, Homagama, Kesbewa and Boralesgamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha areas, Padukka, Meepe and Godagama.
