First innings win for Kandy Youth

Kandy Youths Cricket Club scored a first innings win over Kurunegala Youths Cricket Club in their P Sara Trophy cricket tournament match concluded at the University grounds, Peradeniya yesterday. In reply to Kandy Youths first innings total of 240, Kurunegala Youths were dismissed for 133.

Forced to follow on with a deficit of 107, Kurunegala Youths fared better to score 248 for 6 declared.

Kandy Youths were set a victory target of 142 in 12 overs and they made 63 for 2 at close.

Kandy Youths 240 and 63 for 2 in 11 overs (Muditha Wijekoon 33 n.o.).

Kurunegala Youths CC 85 for 5 overnight 133 all out in 44.1 overs (Udesh Perera 28, Nadun Basnayake 3 for 20, Prasad Ranawake 3 for 31, Chandima Abeykoon 3 for 38) and 248 for 6 declared in 58 overs (Rasika Wickremaratne 62, Indika Dharmawardena 50, Chamikara Edirisinghe 55 n.o., Chandima Abeykoon 3 for 31).
