Panadura Royal amass season’s best total

Royal College Panadura produced a tremendous batting performance to pile up a season highest 418 for 4 wickets in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against Kingswood College Kandy which commenced at Panadura yesterday.

Charith Rusiranga and Kavindu Perera both completed unbeaten centuries and figured in an unfinished fifth wicket partnership of 201 runs. Rusiranga hoisted one six and struck 22 boundaries while Perera had one six and 15 boundaries.

Kalutara MV fight back

Kalutara MV after been dismissed for 231 runs hit back strongly to reduce D. S. Senanayake College to 150 for 5 in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which began at Kalutara yesterday.

Royal College were well set to pull off an outright victory after having reduced De Mazenod College Kandana to 59 for 9 in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which began at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Left arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya returned excellent figures of six wickets for 26 as Lumbini MV bowled out S. Thomas’ College Matale for 89 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at the Colts ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

S Thomas’: 89 (S. Wijetunga 32, P. Jayasuriya 6 for 26, P. Wasantha 4 for 37) and 9 for no loss

Dharmapala MV Pannipitiya were well placed at 119 for 3 in reply to Maliyadeva’s first innings total of 263 runs on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which began at Kurunegala yesterday.
