Minister tells undergrads:

Stay away from unlawful deeds

University students should be true academicians who aspire to take the knowledge from universities instead of engaging in illegal extra curricular activities, Petroleum Resources Minister Susil Premajayantha said.

He was addressing a function organized to offer scholarships to Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation employee's children selected to university this year. The ceremony was held at the Petroleum Ministry yesterday. University students have to cope with the assigned academic activities rather than outside work. They should be academic oriented and work for the advancement of their personal interests on their subject matters, the Minister said.

University education is in danger due to a few students who create commotion in Universities, Premajayantha said.

"This is the only country where university education is affected due to a few students," he added.
