Trial at Bar allows telecast of news footage in open court

The Trial at Bar hearing Sarath Fonseka's white flag issue yesterday allowed the State application to telecast in open court today, the news item telecast over the Derana TV on December 24, 2009 and to lead evidence in connection with Fonseka's speech made at the election rally held on December 23, 2009 at Ratnapura.

The Court also directed the Derana News Editor to hand over a copy of the same video tape to Senior Defence Counsel Nalin Ladduwahetti.

Earlier the Court directed the Derana TV News editor to produce the CD containing the full text of the speech made by Fonseka during the election campaign at Ratnapura on December 23, 2009.
