Kurunegala paddlers dominate

Kurunegala District showed tremendous performance grabbing seven titles in the All Island Intermediate / Novices Table Tennis Championship 2010 which concluded at St Mary's College Kegalle recently.

Paddlers from Maliyadeva Balika Maha Vidyalaya won four titles while Maliyadeva Boys College grabbed two titles and Holy Family BMV Kurunegala won one title in the tournament organized by the Kegalle District Table Tennis Association with the contribution of Member of Parliament Kanaka Herath. The tournament consisted of 16 events and saw over 450 players taking part.

Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda, Dharmaraja College Kandy, Dudley Senanayake Central College Thalangamuwa and Musaeus College Colombo won two titles each. Nithin Nimanthara of Dudley Senanayake Central won a double, winning both under 18 and 21 boys singles while Pavani Srirsena of Maliyadeva BMV won the Novices Women's and Intermediate Women's Singles.
