Central Bank unveils growth projections:

Higher FDI inflows

Recording a high growth momentum in 2010, Sri Lanka is targeting a broad-based economic growth this year. With the investor-friendly economic environment, investments will reach above 30 percent of Gross Domestic Production (GDP) in the medium term,” Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said.

No impact on tourist arrivals

The proposed online visa obtaining system will not have a negative impact on tourist arrivals to the country this year. Industrialists have panicked stating that most tourists to Sri Lanka are not familiar with the internet and are likely to put off visiting Sri Lanka.

Lotus Tower to begin work next month

National policy on broadband soon:

The final Bill Of Quantities (BOQ) of the proposed Colombo TV tower project is now being finalized. The Telecommunication Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) expects to start construction work of the tower next month.
