Dilshan scores second successive century

Dashing opener Tillekeratne Dilshan scored his second successive hundred from 60 deliveries inclusive of three sixes and 16 boundaries as Tamil Union defeated Baduraliya CC by six wickets in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match worked off at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday.

Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara struck an elegant 133 with eleven boundaries as NCC defeated Lankan CC by 87 runs on the Duckworth and Lewis scoring method in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match worked off at Maitland Place yesterday.

NCC: 291 for 6 in 50 overs (Y. de Silva 32, K. Sangakkara 133, J. Mubarak 23, K. Kulasekera 58, L. Gamage 2 for 34).

Lankan CC: 170 for 6 in 46 overs (H. Fernando 23, H. Boteju 70 n.o, C. Peiris 2 for 27, I. Udayanga 2 for 32).

Middle order batsman Milinda Siriwardena hit a top score of 97 to help Chilaw Marians CC beat CCC by 44 runs in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match worked off at Katunayake yesterday.

Army SC: 233 for 8 in 50 overs (R. Kavinga 51, C. Prasad 54, A. Mendis 26, D. Soysa 28, C. Senadeera 24, N. Tharaka 2 for 32, S. Aravinda 2 for 54, C. Randunu 2 for 44)

Police triumph

Sri Lanka Police SC defeated Sri Lanka Air Force SC by six wickets in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘B’ match worked off at Rifle Green yesterday.

Air Force SC: 100 in 29.4 overs (A. Eranga 22, S. Jayawardena 21 n.o, M. de Silva 3 for 24, A. Priyantha 4 for 18, M. Kumara 2 for 3).

Police SC: 101 for 4 in 27.3 overs (D. Rajapaksa 31, S. Nirmala 34 n.o).

BRC victorious

BRC cruised to a five wicket victory over Singha SC Ambalangoda in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier ‘B’ match worked off at Havelock Park yesterday.

Singha SC: 146 in 44 overs (N. Kaluarachchi 39, L. Moshin 21, I. Wickremasinghe 19, I. Udana 2 for 36, N. Liyanage 3 for 48)

BRC: 147 for 5 in 34.3 overs (M. Askar 61, G. Perera 19, B. Samarawickrema 21, V. Chaturanga 3 for 27)

Semis on Thursday and Friday

NCC and Chilaw Marians CC from group ‘A’ and Colts CC and SSC from group ‘B’ qualified to play in the SLC Premier limited overs Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament semifinals which will be worked off at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Thursday and Friday.

NCC who topped the group ‘A’ will take on SSC the group ‘B’ runners up in the first semifinal while the last year’s runners up Chilaw Marians CC who were placed second in group ‘A’ will meet the group ‘B’ leaders Colts CC in the second semifinal.

Both semifinals and the final which is scheduled for Sunday at the same venue will be played as day night matches and will be telecasted live.
