Minister scotches rumours

Leader of the House and Irrigation and Water Resources Management Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva yesterday stated in Parliament that the rumours which said the Chief Justice has resigned from his post are baseless. Minister Silva further said that the rumour was another UNP mud slinging campaign.

He made this observations in response to a question raised by Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as to whether the Chief Justice has resigned from his post. Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva further stated that these types of campaigns were clear indications of the UNP’s bankruptcy. The Minister further stated that it was a baseless rumour.
