Sakvithi, wife further remanded

Two suspects Abaya Ranasinghe Mudiyanselage Chandana Weerakumar Ranasinghe alias Sakvithi Ranasinghe and his wife J P Kumari Anuradhini held in connection with the defrauding of Rs 1,050 million of depositors' funds, were further remanded till January 14 when they were produced before Gangodawila Acting Magistrate Tissa Wijeratne yesterday. The CID filing a report said 12th suspect G Anushka Shayamali Rupasinghe and 18th suspect K B Samakumara had failed to report the CID on January 01 as ordered by the Court.

The vehicle taken into custody by Mirihana Police from the possession of suspect Eric Pushpakumar has been handed over to the company which is the legal owner, on Court orders.

The CID requested the Court to order the Mirihana Crime Investigation Division to hand over the documents pertaining to the vehicle to the CID for investigations.
