Pepsi, the global cola brand unveiled a power - packed plan for the World Cup at a Press conference held in colombo.The youth brand started its ICC Cricket World Cup campaign after presenting the World Cup in a ceremony attend by the local media, officials from the Sri Lanka Cricket and Pepsico. Champa, Deepika TT Champs: Two promising table tennis stars from Lake House, former national champion Deepika Rodrigo and Champa Wimalawardena de Silva teamed up together to win the women’s doubles championship at the 2010 Nationalized Services Open Table Tennis Tournament concluded at the S Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium recently. Deepika Rodrigo also won the womens open singles and mixed doubles events while Champa was the runner up in the womens singles and won the womens doubles final. Also she was the womens veterans champion.


 



 


Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Sri Jayawardanapura were declared joint champions in the Under 13 Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Tournament with Sangamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Matale. It was concluded recently at Trinity College Grounds Asgiriya. This Tournament was conducted by the Kandy Schools Hockey Committee. Alltogether 21 Teams took part. Janadhipathi Girls Team was skippered by Dulanjali Sandunika and assisted by Sandali Dilhara and under ten team was coached by AN Perera. Ananda Under 15 Hockey Team won the Western Province Schools Championship 2010. During the tournament they beat Asoka Vidyalaya 6 – Nil, Nalanda College 2-1. Dharmapala 8 – Nil, St. Benadicts 4 – Nil, Prince of Wales 2-1, and Drew with Wesley one – all St. Joseph Nil – all. In the Semi Finals Ananda beat Royal 1 – Nil In the Finals beat Nalanda by 1 – Nil and became unbeaten Champions. The champion Ananda team seated from left (L. Ittapana (Coach) K.
