Railways introduces special train services

The Railway Department announced that a special train service will be introduced during the school holidays and the festive season from December 24 to January 2.

A special intercity express train will run between Colombo and Bandarawela.

The Bandarawela bound train will leave from Colombo Fort at 8.35 am.

It will reach Bandarawela at 4.10 pm. Meanwhile another intercity train will leave Bandarawela at 6.40 am and reach Colombo at 2.20pm.

If the number of passengers increase additional trains will be run to prevent congestion.

A special security program has also been launched to ensure the safety of commuters, the Department announced.
