Mass Media Minister
Keheliya Rambukwella

Everyone who celebrates Christmas in joy ought to determine to live according to the principles of Christianity, thereby paying the highest respect to Lord Jesus, said Christmas message issued by Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

The entire message is as follows:

"People of the Christian faith all over the world celebrate Christmas on a grand scale.

They are holding Christmas Mass, Prayers, Christmas Carrols, and other religious observances with deep devotion and dedication in remembrance of the Holy Day commemorating the birth of the great spiritual leader.

Lord Jesus preached the practical and noble lessons of liberating the mankind from the hardships, frustrations, suffering and other evils that confront the man and dedicated His whole life for the emancipation of the mankind. The crux of the message of the Lord Jesus that teaches peace, love, unity and helping each other is not a message confined to one society or one religion.

It is a message uniformly applicable to all mankind who love and respect peace.

The basic teachings of Christianity which says that the path to liberation opens up in this world itself by living a righteous life.

Working against injustice is a teaching that has an all time value and if people endeavour to live according to this teaching, nothing can stop the emergence of a righteous society.

Everyone who celebrates Christmas in joy should determine to live their life in accordance with the basic teachings of Christianity, thereby paying the highest respect and honour to Lord Jesus.

May everyone be blessed with the Compassion of Lord Jesus!"
