The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) signed an agreement recently with
Siemens Limited for phase II of the Clean Energy and Access Improvement
Project.
This will enhance the transmission system strengthening grid
substation projects.
The project was signed with an investment of Rs 2,807 million.
This project is funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and is
expected to be completed within two years.
This project intends to construct three new 132/33 KV grid substation
at Maho, Naula and Pallekele and augment five existing 132/33 KV grid
substations at Galle, Habarana, Matara, Panadura and Puttalam.
On completion of this project the supply reliability, ability to get
correct voltage and to provide new connections in Maho, Naula, Pallekele,
Habarana, Matara and Panadura will improve significantly. |
