Udith chess champ

P K Udith Madhusanke Jayasundara of Nalanda College, Colombo emerged champion in the under 15 age category at the Asian School Chess Championship being unbeaten since the first round.

The Sixth School Chess Tournament directed by the Asian Chess Association was held from December 6-13 at the Global Towers Hotel Wellawatte. Sri Lanka Chess Association organized the event in which chess players from India, Singapore, Iran, China, Kazakhstan, UAE, Australia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka competed.

Madhusanke also participated in the World Youth Olympiad Chess Championship held in December 2009 and was the youngest to participate in 2010 National Chess Championship. He also represented Sri Lanka in the World Youth Chess Championship in 2007 (Turkey) and 2008 (Vietnam) and Asian Youth Chess Championship in 2007 (UAE) and in 2009 (India).
