Three monitoring MPs

Galle District Parliamentarian Sajin de Vass Gunawardene has been appointed as a monitoring MP to the External Affairs Ministry, Head of the Presidential Media Division Wijayananda Herath told the Daily News.

Gunawardene was the former Chief Executive Officer of the country's first budget airline - Mihin Lanka.

He has been assigned to monitor and facilitate all affairs of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

A leading businessman turned politician Gunawardene made his entry to the 7th Parliament from the Ambalangoda electorate.

He was a member of the Southern Provincial Council before he entered the Legislature.

Meanwhile Parliamentarians R Duminda Silva and Uditha Sanjaya Lokubandara have been appointed monitoring MPs for the Defence Ministry.

R Duminda Silva, a past pupil of St Peter's College, Colombo was a Western Provincial Councillor before he entered Parliament this year.

SLFP Haputale Chief Organizer W J M Uditha Sanjaya Lokubandara is a son of Sabaragamuwa Province Governor and former Speaker W J M Lokubandara. He holds a Phd in Marketing.
