Arrested for drunk driving

Kandy police highway patrol unit arrested 16 persons including a Provincial Councillor who were driving under the influence of liquor during a surprise vehicle check conducted in Katugastota area on Saturday (11).

Police say a university lecturer, four Army soldiers were among the arrested persons and of the 16 persons arrested four drivers had no driving licence. Later they were released on police bail issuing dates to be present in the Court.
