Ragama murder suspect remanded

Matara Additional District Judge Ruwan Dissanayake ordered to remand
K K Chanaka Harsha, 19, who allegedly killed a man and attempted to
kidnap his two daughters, till December 15, when Matara police produced
the suspect before the Court.
The District Judge further ordered to produce the suspect before
Gampaha Magistrates Court for an identification parade.
According to Matara police the suspect a resident of Matara,
Kamburupitiya had killed businessman Wimal Gamini Alwis, 61, a resident
of Ragama, Tekkawatta on December 8 while he was at home and taken his
daughters in a three wheeler by force. The two daughters have later fled
from the three-wheeler.
Matara police arrested the suspect while he was hiding in a hotel in
Polhena, Matara and taken into custody a blood stained trouser. |
