Sri Lanka High Commission launches website
President Mahinda Rajapaksa launched the website 'Sri Lankans in the
United Kingdom' (www.slinuk.com) at an event at the Sri Lanka High
Commission on December 2 during his recent visit to the UK, states a
High Commission media statement.
The purpose of the website is to create a data bank of all Sri
Lankans living in the UK, which has remained a long-felt need. This will
help increase efficiency of the High Commission's consular activities.
It will also supplement its ongoing endeavours to reach out to the Sri
Lankans in the UK.
The Data Bank will also provide an excellent opportunity for the Sri
Lankans in the UK to interact with the High Commission effectively, and
obtain consular services expeditiously. Visitors to the website will be
able to enter their details securely.
A unique identification number will be assigned to each person.
The High Commission invites all Sri Lankans in the UK to visit the
website and form links, and make the Data Bank project a success. |
