‘Vidya Dadathie Vinayan’ means education and discipline should go
together. Disciplined child develops feeling of love and kindness to
those who are in distress.
He refrains from hating others in terms of caste or creed, he treats
all alike.
It should be the criterion of every teacher to build disciplined
children, the former Polhena Maha Vidyalaya Principal and the Secretary
of Matara Sasanaraksaka Bala Mandalaya Sasthravedi Chief Incumbent of
Polhena Purana Maha Viharaya Ven Ehalape Yathirathana Thera said. He was
speaking at a meeting at Polhena Purana Maha Viharaya.
Over a thousand consisting of pupils and teachers of Daham schools
were present.
Ven Gorakawela Sarada Thera administered the Pansil.
Ven Ehalape Yathirathana Thera further said that our society has now
developed to be one that breaks Five Precepts of Buddhism rather than
observing them. This is the cause for unrest in the society.
Dharmadveepa has turned to be an Adarmadveepa.
It should be our duty to make a determined effort to re-convert our
country to Dharmadveepa. It should begin from the school with the
assistance of parents and other elders,” he said. |
