Hatton-Dickoya UC doing well

Under the UPFA Government, the Hatton-Dickoya Urban Council has not
borrowed a single cent from any institution unlike the previous
administration, Hatton-Dickoya Urban Council Chairman Dr Alagamuthu
Nandakumar said when he submitted the council’s Budget for 2011, at the
Budgetary Meeting held on Thursday at the Hatton-Dickoya Urban Council’s
Chamber.
But it has managed to spend Rs 82.93 million for Development over the
five years and has fulfilled 75 percent of the promises. The credit for
this must go to Livestock and Rural Community Development Minister
Arumugam Thondaman for giving over 200 million under the leadership of
President Rajapaksa.
We are also extremely happy with the UPFA government for providing
able funds under Gama Neguma and Maga Neguma to improve our roads that
were being neglected for many decades in Hatton-Dickoya areas.
Chairman Dr A Nandakumar said CP Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, CP
Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake, Central Province Education (Tamil)
Minister Anusha Shivarajah and other members of the Provincial Council
have contributed a lot towards the development and progress of the
Hatton and Dickoya Towns.
The burning problem of solid waste management has been overcome with
the help of the Environment Ministry and JAICA. Rs 6.5 million has been
allocated for the project. Suitable land has been allocated at Ruwanpura.
