Bus turns into classroom

A bus that have been discarded as non-roadworthy has been transformed into a music classroom in Baddegama St Anthony’s College.

It had been donated to the school by Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma when he was the Transport Minister in line with his concept of using broken and not roadworthy buses as libraries. The classroom has been named Pansilu Arama.

Minister Dallas Alahapperuma who was the chief guest at the opening of the classroom said full credit for this new venture has to go to Principal Nihal Gurusinghe. This new concept has saved an immense amount of money as well as providing a new building.

He pointed out that unlike most schools that are complaining about not having enough resources, the Principal had done good idealistic work. This is a good example for all.

The people should reuse the resources for a country to develop. This trend will lead the society to a new path, he added.

Galle District MP Nishantha Muthuhettigama, also took part.
