met at 9.30 am yesterday. After presentation of papers and oral
questions answered, the house took up the committee stage debate of
the Appropriation Bill 2011.

Appropriation Bill final vote today
The final vote on the Appropriation Bill of the
Budget 2011 will be taken this evening in Parliament. President
Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as Finance Minister presented the
Bill to Parliament on November 22. The second reading of the Bill
took place from November 23 to 29.The committee stage debate started
on November 30 and will end this evening.

President to Chair Cabinet Sub Committee
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to Chair a high
powered Cabinet Sub-Committee on Cost of Living. Mass Media and
Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday said that the
Cabinet of Ministers had decided to appoint a Cabinet Sub Committee
on Cost of Living to be chaired by the President.
