English learners know their business

Indisputably, English is the business language of the world. Sri Lankan parents having realized this phenomenon, are making use of all available resources to educate their children to become proficient in English, and wisely so, UK trade and Investment Head, British High Commission Sri Lanka and Maldives, Janet Ford said.

Janet Ford addressing the AWS Academy of English Language, Speech and Drama award ceremony held at the Ramakrishna Mission Auditorium, Colombo recently said that high quality of teaching at the Academy of English, Speech and Drama is demonstrated by the success of its students today.

Janet Ford, who was the chief guest at the annual award ceremony, said that the UK and Sri Lanka are partners in the pursuit of excellence in the English Language.

Not only do we share a language, our close historical ties means we also share many perspectives and values. AWS Academy of English Language Speech and Drama Principal Anne Wijesinghe delivered the vote of thanks. Here, the awards winners with the Chief Guest Janet Ford and the AWS Staff.
