Isipathana College presents Issisara 2010

Issisara 2010 orchestra of the Isipathana College will be held at 6.30 pm on December 10, at the Maharagama Youth Centre organized by the Old Boys Junior Association of the Isipathana College. There will be 50 students for musical performance, 18 students for singing and 20 students for dance performance participating at this orchestra. Isipathana College teacher Tharangani Pathiraja said that the orchestra will showcase the talent of the Isipathana students who would provide music to the songs of well-known singers such as Edward Jayakody, Charitha Priyadarshani, Amal Perera, Latha Walpola, Ananda Weerasiri and Sumith Mandanayake.

Lode Star inter national school concert

The fifth annual concert of Lode Star Inter National School, Battaramulla, Talangama, will be held on December 5 from 2 pm onwards at Navaranga Hala Colombo. Students of pre school level to Grade 5, will be participating in this concert. There will be many entertainment events performed by the students.

Bonsoir short film day

Bonsoir the longest running TV program in the country, celebrated its 25 anniversary in July this year.

As part of its 25th year celebrations, Studio Bonsoir organized a competition for young Sri Lankan Short Filmmakers below 35 years of age. Short films less than 10 minutes of duration produced during last three years were eligible. Partners of this competition are Embassy of France, Alliance Francaise de Kotte, Brain Tea and Sri Lankan Ari Lines.

All films selected for 'Bonsoir Short Film Day' will be screened at Alliance Francaise de Kotte, No: 139, Jawatte Road, Colombo 05 on December 5, from 9.30am to 4.30 pm. Award Ceremony will be held at National Film Corporation Theatre, Bauddaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07 at 7.00pm and the Ambassador of France in Sri Lanka and the Maldives Madame Christine Robichon will be the Chief Guest. Chairperson Sumithra Peries, Asoka Handagama, M D Mahindapala, Aruna Gunaratne and Bertrand Dufieux serve as the Jury and Chief Editor for Bonsoir Anoma Rajakaruna curate the Short Film Day.

The winners of the Best Short Film Award and the Jury Award will be flown to Paris with the courtesy of Sri Lankan Airlines to attend the Bonsoir short Film Day in Paris on May 2011.
