The Defence Ministry will take stern action
against Opposition Parliamentarians who assist the Tamil Diaspora
who are planing to bring disrepute to the country by making false
statements while touring the western countries, said Media Centre
for National Security (MCNS) Director General Lakshman Hulugalla at
a press conference held at the Police Headquarters yesterday
morning.

Grenade blast:
Magistrate records evidence
Nuwara Eliya Magistrate yesterday recorded
evidence in connection with the grenade blast at the Nuwara Eliya
police station which killed an army deserter and injured 12 police
officers including IP Kamal Ruwanjeewa and several civilians. The
grenade was allegedly exploded by the Army deserter in an escape
bid.

Military Police Colours Night
Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), Sri
Lanka Army, in its 61 years, made its debut for the first time
Wednesday evening when a section of officers and all ranks (both
serving and retired), were awarded regimental colours, amidst all
the pomp and ceremony during the ‘Military Police Colours Night -
2010’ at the BMICH.
