Navy builds houses for resettled
Naval personnel built three new houses for three resettled families
in Karainagar and Kayts. The houses were handed over to the occupants by
Northern Naval Area Deputy Commander Commodore T J L Sinnaih on November
18 to coincide with the President's 65th birthday and his second
Inauguration.
Religious dignitaries and Government officials were present at the
functions held to ceremonially hand over the houses. SLNS Elara
contributed to the construction of two houses in Karainagar while SLNS
Kanchchadewa assisted in the construction of the other house in Kayts.
The houses were built under the Government initiative to grant new
houses to resettled civilians in the Northern province.
