Kingswood in box seat

Kingswood College, Kandy had the better of the exchanges at the end of the first day's play in their inter-school cricket match against St Anne's College, Kurunegala which began in the University Grounds, Peradeniya yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.30am.

Winning the toss and taking the first lease of the wicket the Kingswoodians made 210 all out. Skipper Yasindu Athukorale top scored with a fine 67 which included three fours and a six compiled in 89 balls.

At close Annites had made 17 for two in 18.4 overs before a heavy shower and bad light stopped play at 4.50pm.

Kingswood College: 210 all out in 68.3 overs in 234 minutes (Mahesh Dunukara 29, Yasindu Athukorale 67, Nisitha Weerakoon 13, Devaka Abeywardena 19, Tharindu Gunawardena 24, J Perera 2 for 32, S Vass 2 for 38, K Kosala 2 for 32).
