Information of Buddhist temples on computer

Information including names of all Buddhist temples in the country has been updated and computerized said Buddhist Affairs Department Commissioner General Chandraprema Gamage. Accordingly the total number of temples registered up to January 31 are 10, 343.

The temples are registered under the recognized Nikayas.

Feeding information on new temples will be done via the respective District Secretariat and the regional Sasanarakshaka Balamandalaya.

Updating the data on temples will be conducted next year and the process has begun, the Commissioner General said.
