Jump in visitors to Colombo Museum

National Museum Department records indicate that 397,075 people have
visited the National Museum in Colombo last year.
Records also show that 247,913 people have visited the National
Museum from January to July this year, National Museum Director Nanda
Wickramasinghe told the Daily News.
“We are happy about the present trend and the situation,” she said.
Only 9,946 foreigners visited the National Museum last year,
statistics show. The number had increased to 10,339 this year.
Around 190,089 schoolchildren had visited the National Museum in
2009. However 146,189 students had visited the museum during the first
half of 2010.
