All top scholars in State universities extended
their strong support for the 18th Amendment yesterday. They pointed
out that the 18th Amendment was totally legal and within the
framework of the present Constitution.

UNP, JVP scared to face another Presidential Poll - CP Governor
The UNP and the JVP opposed the 18th Amendment
to the Constitution mainly due to their fear in confronting
President Mahinda Rajapaksa at another Presidential Election rather
than their desire to protect democracy and sovereignty of the
people, said Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa.
