Angelo and Laksiri pilot NCC to victory

Former Sri Lanka youth cap Angelo Perera and all rounder Roshan Laksiri hammered unbeaten half centuries to help NCC pull off a smashing six wicket outright victory over Bloomfield in their SLC Under 23 division one there day cricket tournament match which concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Bloomfield: 241 and 168 for 9 decl (D. Munaweera 34, I. Sandalanka 46, M. Warnapura 32, R. Laksiri 3 for 67, R. Priyan 3 for 37, R. Wijenayake 3 for 44).

NCC: 246 and 168 for 4 (A. Perera 75 n.o, R. Laksiri 52 n.o, A. Atapattu 2 for 68).

Rajiv wrecks Moratuwa

Right arm off spinner Rajiv Weerasinghe captured five wickets for 46 to spearhead Colts CC to a convincing 111 run outright victory over Moratuwa SC in their SLC Under 23 division one there day cricket tournament match which concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.

Colts CC: 368 and 204 for 5 decl (D. Dias 42, K. Janith 66, R. Silva 34, T. Thushan 27, I. Thilina 2 for 62)

Moratuwa SC: 277 and 184 (P. Soysa 81 n.o, C. Fernando 29, R. Weerasinghe 5 for 46, I. Jayaratne 2 for 25, H. Wickremasinghe 2 for 31).

Twin fifties by Ashan

Sri Lanka ‘A’ player Ashan Priyanjana completed twin half centuries as the Tamil Union settled for a first innings victory over CCC in their SLC Under 23 division one there day cricket tournament match which concluded at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval in Colombo yesterday.

Tamil Union: 296 and 283 for 4 (A. Priyanjana 92, S. Kelumpriya 79, U. Peiris 45 n.o, G. Weerasekera 37)

CCC: 293.

Chaturanga steers Moors SC

Skipper Chaturanga de Silva produced a splendid all rounder performance to hand Moors SC a stunning first innings victory over the favourites Chilaw Marians CC in their SLC Under 23 division one there day cricket tournament match which concluded at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Moors SC: 288 and 223 (C. de Silva 90, I. Samarasuriya 38, R. Jayaratne 29, U. Karunaratne 4 for 76, R. Gunasekera 2 for 37).

Chilaw Marians CC: 247 and 55 for 1 (L. Weragala 22 n.o, G. Kumara 25 n.o).

Seeduwa Raddoluwa in upset win

Seeduwa Raddoluwa CC survived few anxious moments before they settled for an upset first innings victory over Ragama CC in their SLC Under 23 division one there day cricket tournament match which concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

Ragama CC: 280 and 182 for 4 decl (N. Fernando 86, D. de Silva 60, M. Cooray 2 for 40)

Seeduwa Raddoluwa CC: 298 for 9 decl (M. Latiff 106, L. de Silva 49, D. Athuraliya 31, N. Premaratne 6 for 94) and 125 for 7 (D. Athuraliya 28, C. Ranaweera 26 n.o, N. Premaratne 2 for 25, D. de Silva 3 for 35).

Double century by Udara

Aggressive middle order batsman Udara Jayasundera hammered a magnificent unbeaten double century but could not prevent Navy SC from conceding first innings points to Air Force SC in their SLC Under 23 division one there day cricket tournament match which concluded at Welisara yesterday.
