Wijenayake (5 for 52) restricts Bloomfield

Seamer Roshan Wijenayake captured five wickets for 52 as NCC dismissed their opponents Bloomfield for 241 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Under 23 division one three day cricket tournament match which commenced at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Bloomfield: 241 (D. Fernando 73, D. Munaweera 44, C.de Silva 42, N. Nonis 30, R. Wijenayake 5 for 52, R. Laksiri 4 for 64).

NCC: 16 for 1.


 

Colts pile up 368

Three good half centuries from Roshane Silva (64), Tharindu Dushan (76) and Chaturanga Kumara (58) helped Colts CC pile up an impressive 368 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Under 23 division one three day cricket tournament match against Moratuwa SC which commenced at Havelock Park yesterday.

Colts CC: 368 (D. Dias 40, K. Janith 32, R. Silva 64, T. Dushan 76, C. Kumara 58, R. Weerasinghe 36, M. Dias 3 for 80, R. Fernando 2 for 49, D. Hewawasam 3 for 50).

Moratuwa SC: 44 for 1 (I. Thilina 30 n.o).


Vimanga props up Ragama

Opener Vimanga Perera hit a top score of 88 to help Ragama CC reach a healthy 280 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Under 23 division one three day cricket tournament match against Seeduwa Raddoluwa CC which commenced at Maitland Place yesterday.

Ragama CC: 280 (V. Perera 88, D. de Silva 42, P. Wickremasinghe 35, N. Vimukthi 27, N. Mazahir 20, C. Rodrigo 21, A. Gafoor 3 for 76, M. Cooray 2 for 47, C. Ranaweera 2 for 58, E. Hasthika 2 for 28).

Fifties by Shehan and Chaturanga

Two fighting half centuries from Shehan Jayasuriya (58) and Chaturanga de Silva (58) helped Moors SC reach 278 for 8 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Under 23 division one three day cricket tournament match against Chilaw Marians SC which commenced at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Splendid 94 by Ashan

Sri Lanka ‘A’ cap Ashan Priyanjana hit a splendid 94 as Tamil Union piled up a formidable 296 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Under 23 division one three day cricket tournament match against the CCC which commenced at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval in Colombo yesterday.

Tamil Union: 296 (A. Priyanjana 94, S. Wijesiri 58 n.o, U. Peiris 30, P. Seneviratne 21, D. Gunaratne 4 for 58, S. Pathirana 2 for 70, L. Manoj 2 for 28).

CCC: 19 for no loss.


Air Force well placed

Sri Lanka Air Force SC were well placed at 126 for 2 in reply to Sri Lanka Navy SC’s first innings total of 187 runs on the opening day of their SLC Under 23 division one three day cricket tournament match which commenced at Welisara yesterday.

Navy SC: 187 (D. Chandima 35, P. Edirisinghe 35, C. Ruwansiri 35, S. Rangika 3 for 5, S. Jayawardena 2 for 59, A. Gihan 2 for 32).

Air Force SC: 126 for 2 (S. Gayan 62 n.o, S. Bulathwela 36 n.o, T. Priyankara 2 for 29).
