The ‘otherside’ of Phoenix Ogilvy

One o the designer outfit created by the team

In this life we are living, we are given many characters to act according to the situation we come across. When we see or do something our mind and focus completely changes to that particular thing. There are things we show the world and there are things we hide as well. But the some that we hide, the secret that we keep to make ourselves happy in our own environment comes out to the open somehow.

A work of pure art

Just like that, Phoenix Ogilvy found the ‘other side’ of every employee and are now bringing their other side out into the open for everyone to experience it. Each and everyone’s mask is removed to showcase what they are after they step out the walls of Phoenix Ogilvy.

This year, being my first time to the other side, I was amazed with the many hidden talents that were brought out by the people. There were amazing paintings, creative work, designs and many more within this small family.

The Other Side was begun in the year 2000 and has now become an event that has showcased many hidden talents and bringing out the true personality of an individual.

Speaking to few artists I learned that they really do give their heart and soul to what they are creating.

Sahan de Silva: He has being an Art Director for the past 7 years and two and a half of it has been with Phoenix Ogilivy and this is the first time he will removing his mask and showing his hidden talent. From his childhood, Sahan has been drawing and painting and two of the painting he had on display were both spiritual.

Another artist also had the idea of being very spiritual and his mind was a work of art itself. He has 16 years of experience in the field and focuses his style around surreal art.

The rock band

The dancing girls

Another famous a talent that is very much out in the open in the after hours is the famous and amazing band BLACK. Black is lead by Ranil Amirthiah and he is a man of many words and languages as he and his band perform in English, Sinhala, Tamil and Hindi. Ranil also released his first album Nimak Nathi Adare consisting the title song and Sandak Doh both very soothing to hear.

To catch more of these talented stars with paintings, sculptures, installations, dance, music and photography you have to wait just a week more to experience them live on one ground from August 28 to the 29 at the Barefoot Gallery.
