Dr NM Perera a leader with vision - Vitarana

Technology and Research Minister Prof Tissa Vitarana said Dr NM was a great leader with vision.

Minister Vitarana was addressing a media briefing at the Dr NM Perera Centre yesterday.

The Minister said that when preparing the Mahinda Chinthana Vision for Future program, many ideas that were similar to that of Dr NM Perera were inculcated in it.

"Dr NM did everything in the best interest of the country," said Minister Vitarana.

He said the Lanka Sama Samaja Party and the Dr NM Perera Memorial Trust has organized several programs on August 14 to commemorate the 31st death anniversary of Dr NM Perera. The NM Perera Memorial Hall will be opened by Prime Minister DM Jayaratne at Ruwanwella on August 14.

A Symposium on "Constitutional Requirements for a United Sri Lankan Nation" will be held at 3.30 p.m. on August 17 at the Public Library Auditorium.

SL Gunasekara, R. Sampandan and Dr Jayampathy Wickramaratne will be delivering speeches.
