Wilpattu refurbishment completed successfully

The 90-day renovation program of Wilpattuwa National Park conducted on the instructions of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has been completed successfully.

Under this accelerated program lakes and the road network were renovated.

The lakes are Maradanmadu, Moragolla Ikirigollawa, Walaswala, Palukolawala, Ibbawala, Percybandiwawa and Mahavawa. The road network spreading over 180 km and four visitors bungalows have also been completely renovated, Wilpattu National Park warden Weerasinghe Dissanayake said.

He further said the Sri Lanka Navy Engineering Division helped to accomplish the task. A large crowds including foreign tourists are expected in the Wilpattuwa National Park in August every year.
