Kolkata Knight Riders have it easy

The touring Kolkata Knight Riders Academy team opened their tour of Sri Lanka with a rousing nine wicket victory over NCC in a limited overs cricket match worked off at Maitland Place yesterday.

NCC were bundled out for 156 runs from 44 overs with Parvinder Awana (3 for 21), Gaurav Jathar (2 for 30) and Akulaku Ahmed (2 for 36) doing the damage.

In reply the visitors raced to their target from 25.4 overs with opener Sunny Singh smashing an unbeaten 106 from 83 deliveries inclusive of two sixes and thirteen boundaries.

NCC: 156 in 44 overs (J. Mubarak 21, A. Ganegama 28, A. Liyanage 20, P. Awana 3 for 21, G. Jathar 2 for 30, A. Ahmed 2 for 36).

KKR Academy: 157 for 1 in 25. 4 overs (S. Singh 106 n.o, C. Sharma 22, M. Singh 28 n.o). CD
