Navy commander visits Wang Geon

Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe visited Republic of Korean Naval Ship Wang Geon at the Colombo Port on July 23. He was received by Commanding Officer of ROKS Wang Geon Captain Suk- Jong upon his arrival on board. Ambassador of Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka Chai Ki-Chul and senior officers of the Sri Lanka Navy were also present.

The Navy Commander and the ROKS Commanding Officer exchanged mementos to mark the occasion.

The Naval Ship arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on July 22. Wang Geon, a destroyer belonging to the Korean Republic Navy, is 149 meters in length.

The ship crew consists of 42 officers and 264 sailors. It stayed in Sri Lanka until July 24. The ship crew participated in a series of programs organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance relations between the two Navies.
