Magistrate directs Fonseka, two others to appear in court

Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Rashmi Singappuli yesterday directed General Sarath Fonseka and Capt. Senaka Harippriya de Silva, the Elections Secretary of General Sarath Fonseka, to appear in court on August 2.

Senior State Counsel Dammith Totawatta appeared with the CID for the prosecution. Earlier Thirantha Walaliyadda, Senior Counsel for Capt. de Silva submitted that his client had been remanded illegally. Nalin Ladduwahetti with Ajith Pathirana, Nilanthi Peiris, Nishanda Gamage.

D. Bandara appeared for General Sarath Fonseka.

The case will be called again on August 2.
