Lankans flay Indian attack
The Sri Lankan top order made haywire out of a
hapless Indian bowling attack and dominated the entire first days
play of the second test match at SSC grounds reminiscing that
opening day in Galle, with Kumar Sangakkara and Tharanga
Paranavitana, yet again, setting the stage for a mammoth
first-innings total. Sri Lanka ended the days play on 312 runs for
the loss of two wickets with Skipper Sangakkara remaining unbeaten
on 130 with 15 wonderfully struck boundaries and Mahela Jayawardena
on 13.

Robinson comes out of retirement
Jason Robinson, a member of England’s 2003 World Cup-winning team,
is to come out of retirement to play for National League side Fylde
next season. Robinson ended his illustrious playing career during
the 2007-08 season, but the 35-year-old winger has decided to return
to action with an unglamourous team who finished ninth in the
National North Two last season.

Top Six all-island swimming at Ananda pool
In an effort to improve the standards of swimming and to popularize
swimming amongst the youngsters, the Ananda College Aquatic Club
along with the College Swimming Pool Management Committee have
organized the Top Six All Island Age Group Championships for the 4th
consecutive year.
