Expatriates living in European countries gathered under the Sri Lankan national flag in front of the United Nation’s Headquaters in Geneva, Switzerland demonstrating against UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s so called Expert Panel. Over 1,000 Sri Lankans participated. The participants carrying banners and posters and waving Sri Lankan flags were from Italy, mainly from Milan and Rome. After the demonstration, a letter requesting the abolishing of the ‘Expert Panel on Sri Lanka’ was handed over. Sri Lankans living in Italy also handed over a letter to the European Parliament Chairman to revoke the EU decision on GSP Plus concession and grant the concession.
