Police registration needed for security
It has been observed that certain parties with
vested interests, seek to misinterpret the concept and process of
the registration of persons resident in Colombo with the Police, and
are attempting to show the entire scheme as a discriminatory
practice confined to Tamil citizens, the Police Headquarters said in

Kandy Police record 16,033 traffic violations
Kandy Police Headquarters had arrested 16,033
traffic offenders during the last seven months. This is an increase
of 3,594 when compared with the corresponding period of the previous
year, SSP Ranjith Kasturiratne said.
