New traffic arrangement in Colombo from today

Police headquarters announced a new traffic arrangement in Colombo effective today.

Traffic coming from Kohuwala through Pamankada would not be allowed to enter the High Level Road through Stafford Avenue from today but could use the Havelock Road to High Level Road, Police Headquarters states in a press release yesterday.

Traffic will not be allowed to enter the Old Havelock Road from W. A. de Silva Mawatha and all traffic moving towards Kohuwala should turn to the right at the Maya Avenue roundabout to High Level Road, through Pamankada Junction, the release states. Such traffic could proceed up to W. A. de Silva Mawatha Junction.

The new traffic arrangement is made due to excessive traffic movement in this area.

Traffic policemen will be deployed on duty to advise motorists of the alternative routes they could take, the release also states.
