HELITOURS, the domestic air service of Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF),

The move is aimed at catering to the growing demand and the
convenience of the clientele, while simultaneously taking domestic air
travel to new heights.
For the first time in domestic aviation history, helicopters will be
used to introduce scheduled flights, creating another milestone for the
SLAF.
But the most striking change HELITOURS customers are bound to notice
will be the new-designed uniforms of the crew, all in their trademark
shades of sky blue.
This will continue to give a huge boost to promoting tourism in Sri
Lanka as it has done for the past 25 years.
HELITOURS recently ventured into off shore aircraft operation,
supporting oil exploration in Sri Lankan waters, sidelining foreign
contenders.
Since the dawn of peace, HELITOURS has expanded their services,
bringing new destination routes under its wings. Scheduled flights to
three new routes of Batticaloa, Ampara and Anuradhapura operate from
Ratmalana Air Force base every Tuesday.
In addition, HELITOURS continues to fly to Palaly on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday while the flights to China Bay are on Monday and
Friday.
Officer-in-Charge of the helicopter division, Squadron Leader
Thilangani Warakagoda said discussions are underway to implement
initiatives of bringing even more amenities to their clientele.
In near future HELITOURS will go online for ticket purchasing. In
addition, it expects to offer in-flight meals. |
