Newly wedded injured as truck falls on house

A newly married couple was seriously injured when a container truck laden with cement blocks ran off the Kandy-Nuwarawela road fell on to their house below yesterday. Another woman said to be the cleaner of the truck was also injured in the accident. The injured were admitted to the Kandy General hospital.

Police said the truck was transporting the cement blocks from Veyangoda.

Considerable damage has been caused to the house and household effects.

Kandy Police traffic division are investigating.
