Siddiqui will be visiting Sri Lanka for the second time.
His last visit as the Head of Global Finance for Dow Jones Indexes,
USA, was in conjunction with the launch of the DJIM Amana Sri Lanka
Index, an Index that tracks stocks on the Colombo Stock Exchange that
are Shariah-compliant.
He was a key figure in this initiative and his continuous efforts in
bringing Sri Lanka’s relatively fledgling industry to the attention of
global players.
The Conference Organisers, UTO EduConsult, have indicated that
Siddiqui’s contribution to the IBF industry in Sri Lanka will be
recognized by a special award during the event. His address titled
“Islamic Finance 2.0” will be followed by another shorter presentation
on the second day of this three day event, on the Convergence of Islamic
Finance and the Halal Industry.
Siddiqui is expected to meet senior government officials and
regulatory heads during his stay in Sri Lanka.
The conference, the only event in Sri Lanka that brings together all
stakeholders in this Industry, has also attracted several well-known
personalities from India, Malaysia, and several countries in the Gulf
region.
Speakers such as Dr. Shariq Nisar from India and Fadzli Yusof from
Malaysia will participate.
