Protest against UN panel:

Call for Int’l writers to muster support

The Janatha Lekhaka Peramuna representing writers, artistes and intellectuals has requested the Asia-Africa Writers Association and the Asia-Africa Solidarity Association based in Egypt to muster support among its membership in Asian and African countries to protest against the three member advisory panel appointed by the UN Secretary General to advise him on human rights violations in Sri Lanka during the final stage of the humanitarian operations to liberate people from terrorism.

The memorandum signed by its General Secretary Gunasena Vithana has said the panel has been appointed by the UN Secretary General at his own will without the consent of the UN Organization to satisfy the whims and fancies of international forces arraigned against Sri Lanka.
