Ayurveda treatment for many diseases

Bandaranaike Memorial Ayurvedic Research Institute (BMARI), Navinna is treating patients with kidney disease spreading in the North Central Province, said BMARI Director Dayangani Senasekara. She said indigenous medicine to treat stages one to three of such kidney ailments was already available.

BMARI will take urgent measures to treat such patients in the North Central Province. BMARI officials go from house to house to identify causes for this disease with the objective of eradicating this disease from the society permanently, she said.

Senasekara said a number of researches are being carried out with the objective of finding solutions to major health problems in our society.

Some have already shown good results, she said.

"We are researching to use leeches to cure varicose veins. We will produce a herbal mosquito coil and herbal hair dye. Also we have introduced treatment for female infertility and already it has shown successful results. We will find a treatment for male impotency also," the Director said.
