Air Force passing out at Diyathalawa


Parade of the air women

A passing out of Sri Lanka Air Force was held at the Air Force camp - Diyathalawa on May 26. The chief guest was Chief Provost Marshal, Air Commodore SC Rabukkwalla.

According to the Air Force media spokesman Group Captain Janaka Nanayakkara, the total number of recruits was 780.

The recruits comprised 145 were from Regular Force and 103 from Volunteer Force and 21 Regular Airwomen.

These recruits have completed 17 weeks of training. The training focused on drill, weapons training, tactics, field craft, map reading, fire fighting, explosive handling, Humanitarian Law, Air Force Law and Combat First Aid. The passing out parade was commanded by Squadron Leader NPRL Gunathilake, Chief Instructor Recruit Training, Diyathalawa. Parade Adjutant was Flight Lieutenant HKYU Somawansa and Parade Warrant Officer Flight Sergeant Atapattu WA.
