Three drown in Ambalangoda canoe mishap

Navy officers recover bodies:

Three persons died when a canoe fixed with a motor capsized in the Madu river at Tuduwamulla in Ambalangoda. The incident occurred on May 29 at 5.30 p.m. Fifteen persons were inside the canoe at the time of the mishap. Navy officers recovered three bodies the same evening.

The deceased are Chaminda Thusan, 26, Anura Samal, 38, both from Ambalangoda and Prasanna Gamage, 23, from Kandy.

The bodies are lying at the Polwatta hospital mortuary.
